Create To-Dos in Mail & iCal - Mac Tips Daily! #378

In Mail.app, you can create to-do items from text in your notes or email messages. What's cool is that you can select a portion of the message and insert it into your to-do list. This is great for when you get an invoice in your email that needs paid, or anything that you need to take action on.

How to do it:

1. Open Mail

2. Select a message that has something you want to add to your to-do list. Click and drag to select the part of the text you want to add.

Mac Tips Daily! #54 - iCal Birthday Calendars

iCal and Address book work well together. You can have iCal pull in all of the birthday information from your Address book, provided you have entered birthday info for some of your contacts. Be sure to add some 'Birthday' information into you contacts within Address Book.

Next, open iCal.

From the 'iCal menu', choose 'iCal->Preferences'.

Select 'Show Birthdays Calendar'.

Now, you will have a birthdays calendar in iCal. Whenever you update your address book and birthdays, the iCal Birthday calendar will be update too.
