Folder Search Defaults - Mac Tips Daily! #395
Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at 5:40PM If you have been using 10.5 Leopard , you know that when you used the search box for finding a file, spotlight would search the whole computer. This is fine, but it can take longer. A new feature in OS 10.6 SNOW LEOPARD, you can now set a default to search just the current folder you have open in Finder.
Here is how to do it:
1. Click on the 'Finder'.

2. Go to 'Finder -> Preferences'.











In Mac OS X Leopard, it has a brand new feature called
2. Now activate spaces by clicking the icon on your dock, or press F8. Once Spaces appears, press the C key and release it. All of your apps will be collected into the first space. 

3. Select Sidebar and then add or remove checkmarks next to the items you want to appear in your Finder sidebar.
