Mac Tips Daily! #77 - Custom Print Settings
Monday, June 1, 2009 at 9:39AM
Always fiddling with the settings of your printer? Have a certain setup you want to keep all of the time? I do. I use the Epson DuraBrite paper to print pictures -- but everytime I want to use it.. I have to go in, change my paper settings, set the quality to maximum, etc. A big pain. I need a preset!!!
You may have differnent needs -- perhaps you want a 'Landscape' setting, or you want to only print 'Odd pages and use Economy Mode'.
Here is how to do it: (I am using my example - I am adding a preset for DuraBrite paper).
First, try to print a document - anything will work, we just need the print dialog open.
Next, select the setting you need to modify. You can tweak of these till your heart is content.

Once everything is just right, click on the 'Presets' drop down menu, and choose 'Save As'.
Type in a name for your preset - I am calling mine 'Durabrite'
Now, the next time you need this config, just click on the 'Preset' drop down menu and choose it.

Notice here, I am setting the paper type to 'DURABrite'. You may not have this option, it is printer specific.
