Spotlight will index all of the data on your Mac. Most people when they search, they want to open the file right after spotlight finds it. But, you can use a Spotlight search to find the exact location of the file on your hard drive. Here is how to do it: Open Spotlight by pressing 'Command - Space', and your Spotlight window will open. Next, search for something in the spotlight box. When the results are returned, hold down 'Command and Click' on the file, and a Finder window will open up with the file, folder, song, etc. already selected. That's all there is to it!
