Mac Tips Daily! #104 - Viewing the Clipboard

Have you ever forgotten what you currently have stored in your clipboard? Maybe it's a bunch of text, an image, hyperlink, etc. Every time you 'copy' something, that is where it is stored. To find out exactly what is in the virtual clipboard, OS X makes it easy to view the contents. Note: Only one item can be in the OS X clipboard at any given time. To try it out, let's copy some text. Find some text (this would be good), and select it. Next, hold down 'Command' and press 'C' - this will copy whatever you have selected into your clipboard. Now, to view the contents, click on the 'Finder' icon on the dock (this makes it the active app), and then choose Finder->Edit->Show Clipboard. clip menu Now, up comes a window with whatever you currently have in the clipboard. In mine, I had copied one of the submissions from our contest page. clip windows
