Mac Tips Daily! # 223 - Compress PDF files

Subscribe with iTunes | Review on iTunes You can save a bundle on paper by printing to PDF files instead of using your printer. Sometimes you may want to email a PDF or post it on the web. If the PDF file contains images, you can squeeze the file size down quite a bit, and the recipient of the file will be pleased. Here is how to do it: Open the Print Dialog from any application. Usually it's under the 'File -> Print' menu. file-print Next, click on the PDF button. PDF Choose 'Compress PDF' PDF menu An automator work flow will now start and compress the file. It will compress any images that are embedded into the PDF. Once it's complete, choose a name and location. pdf output
