Finder Have you every downloaded a file, and then forgot where you downloaded it from? Maybe your friend asks you for the link, but you can't find it. With some Mac OS X compatible browsers, they provide an easy way to tell where your file came from.

Here is how to do it:

1. Download a file with 'Safari'. In my example on the podcast, I downloaded 'Skype'. safari 2. After your download is done, you will end up with a file on your hard drive. Mine was a .DMG file (yours may vary, depending on what you downloaded).

3. 'Control-Click on the file (or Right click on it, if you have a 2 button mouse), and choose 'GET INFO'. 4. Expand the area of the window that says 'More Info'. If it's not expanded, click on the triangle next to it to expand it. Now you should see the original web address of the file, and how it was downloaded.
