If you are running OS X Leopard and you use the Spaces feature, you can make application open automatically in it's pre-defined space. For example, you could have Garage Band open in Space # 4, or Parallels open in Space #2.

safari.pngIn Mac OS X Leopard, the Spotlight search has been greatly improved. One thing that it does now is bring up your Safari web surfing history in the search results. For whatever reason, you may want to keep that history private, and not have your web browsing history show up in your spotlight results.

Leopard Guest Accounts - Mac Tips Daily! #336

systempreferences.pngIn Mac OS X Leopard, Apple makes it very easy to let you temporarily share your mac with friends or family members visiting you.

It comes with a built in Guest account that you can enable from the Accounts menu. The benefit of this is being able to let somebody use your machine to quickly browse the net, check their email, or other tasks. This keeps them from viewing your private info under your account. When they are done, the temporary home folder is removed and their privacy is secured as well.
