One of the nice things about OS X is the ability to print to PDF files. This saves paper, is great for searching with Spotlight, and even sending files. However, if you have some sensitive data, you may want to encrypt the PDF file. Perhaps you have a tax return, business contacts, etc. It's even great for sending sensitive data via email.

Help save some trees. Did you know you can print multiple pages onto one sheet of paper? Depending on your printer driver, you probably can fit up to 16 pages onto one sheet! You may not be able to read it.. but you can do it. I usually find 4 pages per sheet a good compromise for readability.

Users from the OS9 days frequently ask about how to create a desktop printer. You can still do this in OS X, they just bury it inside of the Printer Setup Utility. It's a very handy feature, since you simply need to drag and drop your document onto it, and it starts to print.

Click on the 'Finder' icon on your dock to make it active, then choose 'Go->Utilities'
