In Mac OS X Leopard, Apple makes it very easy to let you temporarily share your mac with friends or family members visiting you.

It comes with a built in Guest account that you can enable from the Accounts menu. The benefit of this is being able to let somebody use your machine to quickly browse the net, check their email, or other tasks. This keeps them from viewing your private info under your account. When they are done, the temporary home folder is removed and their privacy is secured as well.

The default OS X login for multiple users is the GUI (graphical user interface) login. You see a picture and click on it, and if necessary, you are prompted for a password.

If you want to temporarily change from the GUI to the text based login screen, you can do it with a simple keystroke.
Here is how to do it:

From the GUI login screen, hold down OPTION + SHIFT + DOWN ARROW and then press RETURN.

Do you find yourself launching the same set of programs every time you login to Mac OS X? Well, save yourself some time, and make these programs launch automatically.
Here is how to do it:

If you can see the program on your 'Dock', it's quite simple. Simply 'Click and Hold' the mouse button down for a couple seconds, until you see the contextual menu. When it appears, choose 'Open at Login'. Now the next time you login with your account, the program you selected will automatically start.

For a bit more control, you can also do this through 'System Preferences->Accounts'.
