News: iPhone Update 1.01 released
Apple is now offering the first update to it's iPhone software, revision 1.01. The first update has been greatly anticipated by many, but sadly doesn't add additional features.
This release is focused on security and bug fixes -- both welcome additions.
The most notable fix is the Safari security hole which allowed cross site scripting when visiting a malicious website designed to take advantage of the hole.

Apple has launched a dedicated free area called iTunes U, in the iTunes Store.
iTunes U features lectures, lessons, lab demos, etc from some of the top educational institutions.
Most notable schools include Duke, Stanford, and MIT. I am sure the quality will vary from awful to excellent, depending on the recording equipment used. READ MORE »
News: iTunes 7.2 with Non-DRM Enhancements Available + Quicktime Security Update
Apple has posted the latest version of iTunes, version 7.2 through direct download and Software Update.
The new section of the iTunes store is called iTunes PLUS, and it is ready to support the new higher quality (and higher priced) 'DRM-Free' versions of songs when they become available at the end of May.
As we have mentioned previously, the DRM-Free music is going to start as a limited selection from mainly EMI's catalog, until other labels catch on.

The new iTunes Plus section is now open for business.
Also updated was Quicktime, to close a couple of security holes. Two holes in particular were discovered that could be dangerous if you visited a particular malicious web site.
