Let's Rock Event Predictions

Submitted by jcost on Sun, 09/07/2008 - 10:22.

letsrock.jpgApple has sent the invitations for their September 9th event.

My Predictions:

- iTunes Subscription service. I wish it would be $9.95, but knowing Apple, I foresee it becoming $19.95 a month. Yes, I'll probably subscribe.

- Firmware updates for iPhone and iPods to support this. Minor new features. Maybe a copy/paste.

- iTunes 8 released. Still won't be a Cocoa app. READ MORE »

shuffle01_03_20070905.jpgI am not a big Wal-Mart fan, but I was in there today and found a deal I couldn't walk by. They had iPod Shuffles for $48.75 with a free $15 iTunes Gift card. For just a little over $50 bucks I walked out with an iPod shuffle and an iTunes $15 card. Sweet deal.

The sign on the case said this promotion ends March 23. Get em while they're still available.

This is how the iPod would look if Microsoft was marketing it.

My new 60GB IPod Photo - the story concludes

Submitted by jcost on Sat, 09/03/2005 - 23:09.

My new iPod arrived last week from Apple Executive Relations, for a replacement. It was the new style 60Gb color. It is pretty nice!

It didn’t have the same ‘packaged by apple’ feel as my previous iPod 40Gb, it seems they went a little cheaper on the packaging. As everyone probably knows, the new iPods no longer come with Firewire cables. I understand Apple needs to stay price competetive, but it does overall cheapen the feel of the product. READ MORE »

iPod Saga continued

Submitted by jcost on Wed, 08/24/2005 - 14:15.

The day my 40GB iPod returned, with the wrong engraving, I spoke with Apple Exec relations.

I relayed my story… the whole saga.

From the feeling I got, I don’t think that I would have gotten a replacement if it hadn’t been for the wrong engraving.  He was polite though.  Since they didn’t have a 40gb for sale now, he agreed to update me to a 60gb color.  READ MORE »

The iPod Saga Continues

Submitted by jcost on Thu, 08/11/2005 - 11:14.

Ok... I received an email from Apple Dispatch that my iPod was on it's way to allow 2 days to receive it, and they sent me a DHL link to track it. Sounds good.  I track it, and there is No Record found.  I wait another day... No Record found.

Hmm... they said I should have it by Wednesday.. so what is going on.  I track it this morning, Thursday, and No record found.  Ironically, I hear a knock at the door. Dogs Barking alerted me.. they always go off when they think someone is here. To my surprise, it's a FEDEX guy!  I see my iPod box sitting on the ground as he gets his chart ready for me to sign it, so I am elated.

Downstairs I go, opening the box on the way to my Mac Mini.  I open the box, inspect the iPod, and get my dock plugged in. I turn the iPod over,  and guess what I saw?  The WRONG ENGRAVING!!!!

Am I mad?? Not now.  It is so ridiculous, now I have to laugh.  They totally missed the whole first line of what I requested.  Give me a break!!!  I pick up the phone, and leave a polite message at the Apple Care Executive Relations person I am dealing with. Will he call back.. I hope so.

Is it a huge freakin' deal.. not really, but I am not waiting another 25 days to get my iPod back!

I am going to cross-post this over at Mac360 Forums as well.
