Podcast Download Problems

Submitted by jcost on Thu, 04/05/2007 - 08:15.

I am not sure what's going on with Talkshoe.com today (the place that hosts most of my podcasts).

When trying to download them it takes over a minute before they start. I put in a support trouble ticket with them, so hopefully this will be fixed soon.

I'll update you when I get some extra info.
Sorry about the inconvenience.

The iPod Saga Continues

Submitted by jcost on Thu, 08/11/2005 - 11:14.

Ok... I received an email from Apple Dispatch that my iPod was on it's way to allow 2 days to receive it, and they sent me a DHL link to track it. Sounds good.  I track it, and there is No Record found.  I wait another day... No Record found.

Hmm... they said I should have it by Wednesday.. so what is going on.  I track it this morning, Thursday, and No record found.  Ironically, I hear a knock at the door. Dogs Barking alerted me.. they always go off when they think someone is here. To my surprise, it's a FEDEX guy!  I see my iPod box sitting on the ground as he gets his chart ready for me to sign it, so I am elated.

Downstairs I go, opening the box on the way to my Mac Mini.  I open the box, inspect the iPod, and get my dock plugged in. I turn the iPod over,  and guess what I saw?  The WRONG ENGRAVING!!!!

Am I mad?? Not now.  It is so ridiculous, now I have to laugh.  They totally missed the whole first line of what I requested.  Give me a break!!!  I pick up the phone, and leave a polite message at the Apple Care Executive Relations person I am dealing with. Will he call back.. I hope so.

Is it a huge freakin' deal.. not really, but I am not waiting another 25 days to get my iPod back!

I am going to cross-post this over at Mac360 Forums as well.

Being Sc***#@ Over by an Apple Customer Support Rep

Submitted by jcost on Sun, 08/07/2005 - 08:50.

Well, now I am really mad. Sixteen days since I called Apple care. When I initially called, they said the turn around time was 7-10 MAX.

I checked my iPod status online, and it still said ‘HOLD’. I called the Customer Relations lady and asked her what the status was.

She said it was on hold since I initiated a complaint to the BBB.

I asked her if she could send out the NEW iPod she promised me, and she said she never said that!!

I was quite taken aback that she would blatantly deny this. Like I just pulled it out of thin air.

They way she put it was that ‘she could extend my customer relations call until Aug 8,
and to call her then.’ My feeling is that she was telling me this to assuage me and was hoping that the iPod would be back by then and I would be satisfied...and she wouldn't have to fulfill her end of the agreement or ever hear from me again.

She said that she just agreed to keep the complaint open another 30-60 days. (whats the point of this...??)

The liar said the iPod is in the process of being engraved in Asia.. and that then they send it

back to them, and then they ship it to me.

Like I can believe anything she says now.

Also, she said the reason it may still be on hold is that I ‘Escalated’ it with a complaint
and the customer relations department could no longer help, I will now need to call ‘Patrick’ in executive relations…

So, I am waiting from a call from him now. Perhaps he will care and be honest.

I am so upset I am thinking about buying an iRiver. I am not trying to screw apple.. but they are doing it to me. I don’t have free time to keep following up with this and taking up my valuable time to deal with these problems. If I billed my time to them, it would be more than the cost of the iPod!! Not to mention the anger and stress I have let this put on me. READ MORE »

iPod trouble

Submitted by jcost on Mon, 08/01/2005 - 22:21.

Here is a post I put on playlist mag, but never got a resonse on. My main question is.. has anyone had any trouble with their iPods where you had to go through many to get one that works?

From playlistmag.com:

Hey all, I was wondering if anyone has had any situations similar to mine.

Please note I ran the FULL battery of tests on each incident including the software restore..and Apple always had me send it back.

I bought my 40GB 4th Gen iPod in Nov.2004 from the Apple online store.

It worked great until January, and then all of a sudden, the video screen went blank—and stayed blank. Music played - however no video.

I sent it back to apple, and they sent me a new iPod (refurb..but looked new). Took about 10 days round trip. READ MORE »

iPod is broken...woe is me

Submitted by jcost on Sat, 01/08/2005 - 02:30.

I love my iPod. I have had it since November of 2004 and used it every day.

I pulled it out of my pocket today, and the screen was dead (only the backlight works..), much to my dismay. READ MORE »
