Thank you Steve Jobs For the 30+ Insanely Great Years!

A Sad day, indeed. My wife shockingly gave me the news, and chills ran through my body. Not the good ones either. Reading the announcement made me choke up. I'm glad nobody was around. Steve was our Michael Jackson of the tech world. I would say he did more for changing the world than Michael Jackson. Without Steve we wouldn't have gotten the notification on our iPhones. My daughter wouldn't be watching Netflix on a magical device to entertain her while I write this. I wouldn't be writing this on the best computer, the Macbook Air, I've ever owned.

Thank you Steve For the 30+ Insanely Great Years! Without you, I wouldn't be doing this. I don't know what else to say.

Apple would like you to share your thoughts, memories, and condolences - email: rememberingsteve@apple.com

Steve Jobs Steps Down as Apple CEO

Just teared up when I read this out loud to my wife. Can't be good news for Steve if he is doing this. Prayers for him.

Letter from Steve Jobs

CUPERTINO, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–To the Apple Board of Directors and the Apple Community:

I have always said if there ever came a day when I could no longer meet my duties and expectations as Apple’s CEO, I would be the first to let you know. Unfortunately, that day has come.

I hereby resign as CEO of Apple. I would like to serve, if the Board sees fit, as Chairman of the Board, director and Apple employee.

As far as my successor goes, I strongly recommend that we execute our succession plan and name Tim Cook as CEO of Apple.

I believe Apple’s brightest and most innovative days are ahead of it. And I look forward to watching and contributing to its success in a new role.

I have made some of the best friends of my life at Apple, and I thank you all for the many years of being able to work alongside you.

Steve

Steve Jobs - Live from D8 Conference

Walt Mossberg and Kara Swisher have the big guy on first at their D8 Conference.

Engadget did a heck of a job on the live blog, so check it out.

They cover the Stolen iPhone, Flash, iPhone/iPad (which one came first), curation of the app store and a whole lot more.

Check out Engadget's live blog.

TMZ Spotted Steve Jobs

Glad to see Steve is back to work. I'm sure he just loved someone snapping this pic and selling it to TMZ. At the very least, it's certainly good to see him out and about, even if it was through a tabloid. He still looks pretty thin, but I'd guess that's to be expected after something as serious as an organ transplant.
