iOS 5.01 Upgrade Available Now

Ios5bookshelf

Battery life issues be gone. We hope. Apple has just released the first upgrade to iOS 5, taking it to iOS 5.01.  This can be done via OTA (Over the air) or you can connect to iTunes and do a 'Check for updates'.  While battery life is key, I'm kind of excited that they decided to add the multi-tasking gestures to the original iPad. Thanks Apple.

To force your iOS device to do an over the air, connect it to power and then go to System Settings -> General -> Software Update

This update contains improvements and other bug fixes including:

• Fixes bugs affecting battery life
• Adds Multitasking Gestures for original iPad
• Resolves bugs with Documents in the Cloud
• Improves voice recognition for Australian users using dictation

Products compatible with this software update:

• iPhone 4S
• iPhone 4
• iPhone 3GS
• iPad 2
• iPad
• iPod touch (4th generation)
• iPod touch (3rd generation)
