iPhone 3G imminent
By now I think it's very clear that a new version of the iPhone will be debuting very soon. All of the signs point to it.
- iPhone is out of stock in several countries.
- Screenshots of the SDK show an option to disable 3G data.
- WWDC is coming in June, and it's a prefect spot to debut it.
- iPhone firmware 2.0 is coming in June along with 3rd part apps.
- AT&T and other partners have as much as admitted it.
While this new version will probably be full of new features, people will always want more. This next iPhone is going to be what everyone wanted it to be last year. Will this satisfy most people? Nope. No matter how awesome this phone is, and how many features it has... it's always going to be missing one -- a physical keyboard. For me, it's a tradeoff I am willing to make.
My #1 wish for the iPhone is a faster processor. One that can quickly render pages. Even on Wi-Fi, I still find it terrible slow to browse the web. Safari simply can't render the pages fast enough to suit me.
