Contest is almost over.... Correctly Enter... Please!
Tomorrow is the final day for entries into our 300th show contest.
We've had an enormous amount of entries, and it's really fun to read through them all. Unfortunately, I would say at least 20% of them have not told us about their first computer. Hello... that's a stipulation of the contest. I clearly state on the contest page that incomplete entries will be discarded. I hate to do that. If you have entered and are reading this, look in your SENT box and see if you entered correctly! If you didn't, re-submit your entry. You need to tell me your Name, where you are from, and an anecdote about your FIRST COMPUTER.
Previously, we've had larger scale contests with more prizes, but it quickly got out of hand on the distribution of prizes. Software isn't so bad - the developers are great about quickly distributing the registration info. But for our last contest I was tasked with shipping most of the products, which was quite costly for me. I think I shipped about 20 iPod nano cases, 5 or 10 books, and some other stuff too. It was way over $150 I spent on shipping....
Being we are contribution based (and we hadn't received any contributions...), that quickly ran into my own pockets. Who would've thought sending a package overseas would be so expensive?
This time I went with software only. Very high quality software that we love at thinkmac.net. If we didn't love it, we wouldn't give it away.. plain and simple.
I can't wait to give this stuff away!
