E
verybody does a top 10... Here are the list of FREE Apps I recommend for any Mac OS X User.
1. BackityMac - New to the scene, and my now absolute FAVORITE backup program!
2. Camino Browser - From the people who work on the Firefox team is the super fast and Mac browser.
3. Image Well - Grab, crop, annotate your images.
4. Vienna - Open source RSS reader. I love the Mac looking interface, and it's free. I switched from Net Newswire lite to this one.
5. Textwrangler - Don't need the power of BBEdit? Well, try out this extremely robust text editor.
6. Coconut Battery - Have a iBook or Powerbook? Find out how much life your battery has left in it's lifespan.
7. Chax - Add some extra features to iChat.
8. Stuffit Expander - No longer shipped with Mac OS X... but still needed. You will need it to extract some archives you come across.
9. Disk Inventory X - Find out where all of that disk space went.
10. Mac The Ripper - Backup those DVDs... this will rip them to your hard drive, then you can use a program like Popcorn to compress it or send it to your iPod with video.
11. Main Menu - Forget the terminal... use this little menu program to handle all of your OS X maintenance.
