Check it out.

Picture 2.pngNBC and Apple are offering some free content for your pleasure. The one that caught my eye was a free High Definition version of 30 Rock. If you want to check out the HD quality, here is a direct link. Be sure to click the 'FREE EPISODE' button.

When you get an HD version, they also include a standard def specifically sized for fitting on your iPod, iPhone, or iPod Touch.

Let's Rock Event Predictions

letsrock.jpgApple has sent the invitations for their September 9th event.

My Predictions:

- iTunes Subscription service. I wish it would be $9.95, but knowing Apple, I foresee it becoming $19.95 a month. Yes, I'll probably subscribe.

- Firmware updates for iPhone and iPods to support this. Minor new features. Maybe a copy/paste.

- iTunes 8 released. Still won't be a Cocoa app. READ MORE »

iDVD Video Compression - via Mac OS X Hints

Submitted by jcost on Sun, 08/24/2008 - 11:09.

idvd.pngHere is a nice article/discussion on Mac OS X Hints regarding choosing the proper 'quality' settings for creating a good looking iDVD.

Pretty interesting stuff. Before I read this, I always used what I thought was going to render the best... even if it took days on my iMac.

iPhone!

Well folks, I finally bought an iPhone. I'm loving it. I started my second semester of grad school this week and about half way through, realized I could really use some digital assistance. So, I'll end up paying Sprint some money but after using Mobile Me to sync a bunch of new contacts, to two Macs and the iPhone, I was totally sold. I think it's well worth the $99 price, to be able to sync the tiny details of my life.

So far my favorite apps from the apps store are: WhitePages, Enigmo, Checklist and UrbanSpoon. There are so many more I hope to try though. Feel free to post your favorites in the comments. I'd love to hear what apps everyone likes. READ MORE »

Tap Tap Tap - What they made in July

WhereToSmall.pngJohn Casasanta, a long time application developer for the Mac has been open enough to release their sales numbers since the App store opened in July.

Read his post here, where he discloses the data.

I think it's pretty obvious that if you can write a cool or unique application, and manage to stay in the featured App store sections, you have the potential to make a bundle. Now if only I could program....

Thanks to Cindy for sending this in.
