airportexpress_125.jpgApple has updated their product line to include the ultra portable Airport Express wireless base station to 802.11 N standard.

Priced at $99, it offers a premium mobile base station that offer Airtunes (iTunes streaming) and USB Printing. The Airport Express includes a built-in combination digital and audio audio connector, which will allow you to connect it to your home stereo or powered speakers. iTunes will detect this and permit you to stream music wirelessly to it. Apple Announces iPhone 2.0 Software Beta

Includes SDK & Built-in Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync

CUPERTINO, California—March 6, 2008—Apple® today previewed its iPhone™ 2.0 software, scheduled for release this June, and announced the immediate availability of a beta release of the software to selected developers and enterprise customers. The iPhone 2.0 beta release includes both the iPhone Software Development Kit (SDK) as well as new enterprise features such as support for Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync to provide secure, over-the-air push email, contacts and calendars as well as remote wipe, and the addition of Cisco IPsec VPN for encrypted access to private corporate networks. News: iPhone still rules, will rule more in late June

newiphone.jpgThe iPhone has finally exploded into the feature set it should've had all along. Now it integrates with Microsoft Exchange for enterprise users. It has licensed Active Sync from Microsoft and has made a seamless push technology for email, contacts, and address book. Additionally, it will support WPA2 Enterprise with 802.1x, and Cisco IPsec VPN. That should sell a few million iPhones right there. READ MORE »


News: iPhone Roadmap, Aquariums, & Independence

Looks like Apple has sent out invitations to a special event on Thursday March 6th at the Apple Campus. Topics will include the new SDK and and some new enterprise features. Sounds like they are revving up to make a move on corporate America. Time will tell I guess. This is even exciting news for folks in Ireland, as O2 has announced the iPhone will be released there on March 14th.

While we all wait for this new SDK to surface, it never hurts to check out software for your Mac. The folks at Unsanity have released Leopard (10.5) compatible betas of their 'haxies' such as WindowsShade X, FruitMenu, and FontCard. The former two were two of the apps I bought when I bought my very first iBook back in 2004.

Apple is introducing a new 2GB model sometime in the immediate future at the $69 price point. Still a great value and making it oh so tough to compete for the other flash media players out there.
