Address Book

Do you have duplicate names in your address book, but only partial information inside each one. Perhaps you have the mobile phone in one, home in the other, etc. You can easily merge them into one card.

Here is how to do it:

2.Switch to Card & Columns View by pressing COMMAND-1

The address book widget that comes with OS X Tiger is a great way to find someone's information very quickly.

I find it to be quicker than launching the address book, and looking through all of your contacts.

Here is how to do it:

1. Click on your Address Book widget on your Dashboard.
2. Use the search box on the widget to find an address book entry that you have fully entered the info into. It should have a phone number, street address, and email address.

Create your own customized vCards inside Address Book. Make life easier on people you want to share your info with. Instead of making them type in all of your contact info, send them a vCard (sort of a virtual business card). When they open it, all of your info is imported into their address book. If you have multiple entries for a person or company in your address book, which may contain partial info, you can merge them into one single card. I would recommend backing up your Address Book before you try this tip - just in case you don't like the results.
To do so, go to File -> Backup Address Book.
